China
A Trip to China Was One of My Best Trips
We all know that China is the most populous country in the world, which is why more people in the world speak Chinese than any other language!
After Russia, China is considered the largest country in the world.
During my trip to China, I realized that you can find all kinds of climates there. In this respect, it’s very similar to Iran.
The sea, forests, rivers, deserts, snow and ski resorts, industrial and luxurious cities with skyscrapers reaching into the sky, beautiful villages, rice fields, and…
My first experience traveling to China started with a trip to Shanghai and then going to Shenzhen, China’s biggest city for electronics manufacturing, or Shēnzhèn, as they call it (they pronounce it with a combination of the sounds “z” and “j”).
Shenzhen is an incredibly beautiful city, full of places to visit and things to do.
All the major electronics factories are located in or around Shenzhen.
The city is right next to a very beautiful river, and the entire city is covered in green vegetation. It’s unbelievable that even all the major bridges in the city are covered with climbing plants.
The middle of all the highways and the sides of the streets are landscaped with flowers and trees, and everything is completely green.
In short, everywhere you look, you see greenery in this city.
Chinese people, especially women, unlike most people in the world, are not interested in tanning. As soon as the weather gets sunny, they put an umbrella over their heads so their skin doesn’t get dark! Their belief is that workers and servants have dark, sunburned skin.
As for Chinese food, I’m sure you’ve heard about it! Yes, you heard correctly.
They say they eat everything that’s in the air except airplanes, and everything that’s in the water. That’s true!
Just like we have sheep’s head and trotters in Iran, they had crocodile head and trotters (I’ve included a photo), and eating frogs, snakes, eels, and… is completely normal.
They have restaurants that look more like aquariums. There are all kinds of sea creatures in the tanks, and you can choose one and have it cooked or half-cooked right there for you.
Of course, China is full of really good restaurants. I had some of the best meals of my life in China (Japanese and Mexican restaurants).
In Shenzhen, China, the world’s largest laser show is held every day, and you absolutely shouldn’t miss it. It’s incredible.
They also have a place called Of The World, where they’ve built miniature versions of countries and famous landmarks from around the world! From the Eiffel Tower to Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan! You absolutely have to go there and enjoy it.
Shenzhen has lots of shopping malls for electronics. You can find everything imaginable there, from the smallest things to the biggest things, at very low prices, although the quality is low!
Clothes are expensive in China, especially Chinese brands, some of which you really shouldn’t go anywhere near.
But, to be fair, when it comes to clothing, their quality really is much higher than in many other countries.
After Shenzhen, I went to Guangzhou because of the huge Guangzhou trade fair. It took me a whole week just to see the electronics and computer halls. It was incredibly huge.
Guangzhou is also next to a river. It’s not as beautiful as Shenzhen, but there are lots of places to visit.
There’s plenty of nightlife and good restaurants in Guangzhou, but overall, it’s not a particularly clean city. Personally, I liked Shenzhen more.
The city is full of computer and electronics companies, and that’s what it’s known for.
In China, apart from the major cities like Beijing and Shanghai, most cities are known for something specific, and the majority of the people living in each city work in that particular field.
My next trip was to Shanghai, which is considered the capital of China.
Of course, China has two capitals: Beijing and Shanghai.
During my trip to Shanghai, I realized that the capital of China is a huge modern city with luxurious neighborhoods and skyscrapers reaching into the sky. I can say that it’s not only no less than Dubai, but is even one step ahead of Dubai in terms of development and luxury.
The cost of living in Shanghai is very high, including food, accommodation, and transportation.
During my trip to China, a few things I saw on the streets of the capital of China, Shanghai, were interesting to me:
1- From a young age, their children were taken outside by their schools and given special tongs to pick up garbage along the river, so they would learn that garbage doesn’t belong on the street. (I wish we did this too. It’s really such a simple thing.)
2- Getting a driver’s license in China is very difficult, and they don’t just give anyone a license. Even after you get your license, you absolutely cannot have a car with a capital-city license plate. And if you buy a car with a license plate from another city, you’re subject to a number of restrictions. (For example, you’re not allowed to drive over the bridges after 4 p.m., so you have to go home before then, otherwise you’ll get stuck in some unbelievable traffic.)
3- Leaving aside the laws about having children, people aren’t allowed to take their kids to school and pick them up themselves. (They have to use the school bus or public transportation to get there and back.)
4- Every lane is clearly marked to show whether you have to go straight or whether you can turn right or left. Even if you make a small mistake (like turning without using your indicator or moving from lane 3 to lane 1), you can get a heavy fine, and your license can be revoked very easily. And that’s nothing compared to running a red light or entering a no-entry road. (You can say goodbye to driving for good.)
5- There were some vehicles that went around the streets collecting stray dogs. In a way, they were rescuers for homeless dogs. When I asked why they did this, I found out that if they didn’t rescue them, people would kill them and eat them!
A river runs through the middle of Shanghai and divides the city into two parts. These two parts are somewhat different from each other. One of them is considered more luxurious and more upscale than the other.
Shanghai has some incredibly beautiful neighborhoods that look a lot like the streets of France. When you walk around there, you see so many flashy and luxurious shops that it feels like you’re walking right in the middle of the Champs-Élysées.
There are several very tall towers that you can buy a ticket for and go up to the top. One of these towers looks like Milad Tower and gives you a view of Shanghai, while another one looks like the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and has a similar height.
Taxis in China, especially in Shanghai, are very expensive, so try to use the subway. Also, Chinese people aren’t very fair when it comes to tourists, and they charge tourists more money whenever they can.
Chinese people are known for being clever and shrewd. If you’re planning to do business with them, don’t take risks and don’t completely trust them, because it can be risky.
If you’re planning to travel to China, I definitely recommend putting Shenzhen, China, on your itinerary.
