The Workshop of Suffering
Ally Delshad Tehrani
The Workshop of Suffering is not about eliminating or curing suffering; it is about seeing the paths through which suffering is displaced. In order to reduce immediate pressure, people often turn to responses that may bring temporary relief, yet reactivate the same suffering in the body, in relationships, in society, or somewhere farther away. By examining the suppression and redistribution of suffering—from everyday habits to collective structures—this book asks whether it is possible to create a pause between suffering and response: a pause in which patterns can be seen, the absence of an immediate answer can be endured, and the consequences of a choice not yet made can be considered.
